Matcha is made from green tea leaves that are ground to a fine powder. Nothing is added to our Matcha powder, so it is gluten free.
The maltodextrin that we use for our MatchaBooster is extracted from tapioca, sweet potato, and corn so it is gluten-free.
Matcha is very sensitive. Expired Matcha will lose its aroma, color, and freshness. Therefore, we do not recommend consuming expired Matcha as its quality will have decreased. If you purchase Matcha from Maeda-en’s website, you will receive Matcha with the best expiration date from our warehouse.
We recommend to drink brewed tea within 24 hours. If you want to keep it longer; keeping it in the fridge will help it last. The rate at which brewed tea loses its freshness depends on various factors. Watch out for any signs of change in taste and smell.
Tea leaves absorb smells more easily than other foods and are sensitive to oxygen, humidity, temperature and light exposure. It is important to seal tea leaves and store them in a cool, dark place in order to avoid losing flavor, aroma, and color.
After opening the package; you can store your tea for about 10 days in a tea tin. If you want to store your tea for more than 10 days after opening; place your tea in an air-tight bag and store in the refrigerator. Once you take the bag out of the refrigerator, wait until your tea becomes room temperature before brewing.
Green tea is known for being rich in nutrients. But green tea contains caffeine, and the amount contained is different depending on the type of green tea. We recommend you to discuss green tea consumption with your doctor if you are sensitive to caffeine.
